New „single use plastics“ directive / separate reporting duties
The Swedish Environmental protection agency (EPA) has announced that they are increasing the annual register/enforcement fee from currently 500 SEK to 1.000 SEK in 2023 for all registered packaging producers/sellers.
The new „single use plastics“ directive requires from sellers/producers of such products a seperate reporting of the sold volumes in Sweden by 31st of March 2023 at the latest. This includes food containers, beverage containers, single use plastic lids for cups, flexible wrappers, plastic bottles less than 0.6 litres etc.
