The packaging law in Germany was amended last year and the first changes already came into force in 2021. (Go4Recycling have already updated their news site with these changes). Further adjustments will come into force in 2022.
All obligated companies are confronted with more or less serious changes and updates. Besides the obligation to provide evidence for all packaging types since 2022 – an important new requirement is the obligation to register all types of packaging at the German Packaging Register – which will be necessary from 01.07.2022 on. From the beginning of May liable companies can register for the other packaging types. We recommend to check whether this new registration obligation applies to your company or not.
