The German Ministry for the Environment (BMUV) has presented the draft of the new register fees for WEEE and batteries (ElektroGBattGGebV) starting from January 1, 2024. The main changes are:
- The quarterly fee for registered companies is expected to nearly double. There will be basic register fees of at least 175 euros per year from 2024 on
- Verification process for B2B registrations is set to become more cost-effective.
- The fees for pick up arrangements (ElektroG) are projected to remain approximately the same in the future.
- Fees for a change of company name will increase significantly in 2024.
This is an initial draft that has not yet been finalized within the federal government. Changes may still occur by the end of this year.
