In mid-September, the Germany Environmental authority published the draft for the 3rd amendment of the German WEEE law (ElektroG3),The amendments are expected to come into force on 01.01.2022.
The focus of ElektroG3 is on improving take back possibilities for old devices.
Another important change concerns marketplace operator and/or fulfilment service providers. In the future they have to ensure that the electrical appliances offered on their platforms are properly registered.
And there will be more take-back obligations for retailers.
