Back in 2018 the Swedish government agreed on several changes of the national packaging ordinance – effective from 1st of January 2021.
The most important news is that producers and distributors not only have to be part of a take back scheme but also have to register with the Swedish environmental agency EPA and report their put on market volumes to them.
On top of that foreign companies also have to appoint an authorized representative In Sweden and pay an annual register fee to the EPA.
