Since mid June E-scooters are approved for public roads and could be driven legally in Germany. Currently there is a big E-Scooter hype – especially in the major German cities.
Due to the new German E-Scooter law (eKFV) nothing has changed interms of the registration obligations for E-Scooters at the German authority Stiftung EAR
E-scooters are still in the WEEE scope. According to information from the Stiftung EAR, all electric two-wheeled vehicles – without type approval – are in the scope of the German ElektroG
In many other EU countries the E-Scooters also fall in the national WEEE and battery scopes.
