Authorized representative model (AR) for foreign companies in Spain has been extended from WEEE to batteries

After having adapted the WEEE2 recast into national law and having implemented the AR model for electronical waste Spain has expanded this regulation to producer responsibility of batteries. Depending on the sales method and distribution channel foreign companies acting as suppliers and/or producers have to/or may be registered with the local authorities for batteries as well. In addition to that they also may/or have to join a Spanish take-back scheme for battery recycling.
