NEW EPR OBLIGATIONS IN CROATIA FOR FOREIGN COMPANIES

The Croatian Environmental Agency FZOEU has released new requirements stating that even foreign online sellers without a Croatian entity or an OIB number are obliged to join a take-back system for WEEE, batteries, and packaging to comply with EPR obligations in Croatia.

Previously, EPR regulations were only relevant for national distributors or foreign companies with an OIB number. Additionally, foreign companies can voluntarily register for their Croatian customers and report the quantities placed on the market.

The FZOEU (Fond za zaštitu okoliša i energetsku učinkovitost) is the Croatian Environmental and Energy Efficiency Agency and is responsible for implementing environmental protection and energy efficiency programs in Croatia.
