Latvia is now implementing the requirements of the EU Batteries Regulation. From 2026 onwards, foreign manufacturers will be required to appoint an Authorized Representative for batteries.
As part of this legislative amendment, the obligation to appoint an Authorized Representative has also been extended to Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
In addition, starting in August, foreign companies without an legal entity in Latvia will also be required to appoint an Authorized Representative for packaging as part of Latvia’s implementation of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
We have already initiated all the necessary steps on behalf of our customers. If we currently support your company in Latvia, you can find detailed information about the applicable costs in our customer portal.
