In 2023 a new battery law will come into force in Slovenia that will affect foreign companies directly. From 2023 on foreign online sellers without a national entity and VAT No. that put batteries on the Slovenian market have to join a take-back system and pay recycling fees for batteries.
It is still not clear whether foreign companies have to appoint an authorized representative for batteries or not. Additionally foreign companies that sell their batteries to Slovenian companies could register on behalf of their clients voluntarily.
