The French Ministry has officially postponed the implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme for commercial (B2B) packaging to 1 January 2027.
The postponement is intended to provide sufficient time to complete the final preparations for the launch of the scheme. This includes identifying the companies that will be subject to the new requirements and publishing the 2027 fee schedules by the approved Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs), which are expected from September 2026 onwards.
Companies should use this additional preparation time to assess whether they are affected by the new regulations, identify the packaging that will need to be reported, prepare the necessary data, and plan their registration with an approved PRO in good time.
We are closely monitoring further developments in France and will keep our customers informed as soon as the 2027 fee schedules and additional implementation details are published.
