PPWR is coming – prepare for the new packaging requirements

With the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) set to take effect in August 2026, companies across the market will soon face a range of new requirements. Over the coming months, many businesses will need to address numerous obligations, including both administrative tasks and technical standards for packaging.

We will continuously inform our customers about the relevant developments. In particular, we can reliably assist with topics such as registrations, the appointment of Authorized Representatives for packaging, and changes to EPR reporting, covering an important part of the new requirements and guiding you through the relevant processes.

In addition to these organizational obligations, the PPWR will also introduce a wide range of new technical requirements for packaging. These include, among others, aspects such as the recyclability of packaging, material selection and packaging design, minimum recycled content, as well as new documentation and verification obligations.

For these technical and content-related topics, we work closely with the packaging engineers of our partner TILISCO GmbH. TILISCO is a consultancy specializing in holistic packaging management and sustainability. Their team of experienced packaging engineers supports companies with practical analyses and assessments of their packaging and develops concrete recommendations for implementing the new PPWR requirements.

In addition, TILISCO regularly offers free webinars in which the key aspects of the PPWR are explained in a clear and understandable way, giving companies an initial overview of which steps may become relevant in the coming months and years. You can find an overview of the upcoming dates here:
