As part of the implementation of the EU Battery Regulation in Germany, new register fees at the German WEEE and battery authority Stiftung EAR was published in October. The official name of this fee reulation is „Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz-Batterierecht-Durchführungsgesetz-Gebührenverordnung“ (short: ElektroGBattDGGebV)…
In terms of content, most of the fee provisions remain unchanged and will initially correspond, until the end of 2026, to the version in effect since August 18, 2025.
A new quarterly registration fee for batteries has been introduced (analog to the existing quarterly fee in the WEEE sector). Overall, fees have decreased slightly compared to the previous fee regulation.
