An amendment of the packaging law in Bulgaria has come into force with significant changes for all companies that put packaging onto the Bulgarian market, especially for foreign online sellers.
According to our information foreign online shops without an entity in Bulgaria that send goods to end consumers are obliged to join a take-back scheme for sales packaging.
From 2022 on – all companies that put packaging onto the Bulgarian market have to show a material code on their packaging (comparable to the new labelling obligation in Italy). This code includes e.g. the coding of the material, the type of packaging etc.
