Since the beginning of this year a few amendments according to the Greek packaging law came into force. The most important change is that the labelling obligation for sales packaging with the green dot is no longer mandatory in Greece. Producers, distributors and importers may choose now whether they want to put the green dot on their household sales packaging or not.
Furthermore Portugal – one of the last EU countries with the green dot labelling obligation – announced that this requirement will be repealed in 2019.
